David Zimmer, President of ERIEBANK, today announced the top eight charities in ERIEBANK’s 8 Great Charities, a contest in which the Bank will award a total of $8,000 to local non-profit organizations. The nominations for ERIEBANK’s 8 Great Charities in alphabetical order are:

AJO Forever Foundation

Anna Shelter
Emma’s Footprints
Erie Trap & Release
Erie Animal Network
New Blossoms New Life
Orphan Angels Cat Sanctuary

The contest now proceeds to open voting for finalists to receive monetary awards from ERIEBANK. Anyone can vote on Facebook or at one of the branch offices every day from now until Sunday, August 27 at 11:59 p.m.  Awards will be announced at the final concert on August 29. The three organizations with the most votes will receive $3,000, $1,500, and $1,000, respectively, and the additional five organizations will each receive $500.

The finalists were announced last evening’s ERIEBANK 8 Great Tuesdays concert at Liberty Park. The Bank is the major sponsor of the free eight-week concert series.
“We are thrilled with the community’s support of ERIEBANK’s 8 Great Tuesdays and the support for 8 Great Charities as well,” Mr. Zimmer said. “Over 10,000 votes were cast for an array of non-profits that serve the Erie area. The high level of participation is a testament to the vital roles these organizations have in our community.”
To be eligible for the contest, non-profits must be designated as IRS 501(c)(3) organizations and must be located in and serve communities where ERIEBANK is located: Erie, Meadville, or Warren, PA, and Ashtabula or Mentor, OH. Contest rules and regulations are available on ERIEBANK’s website.
