David Zimmer, President of ERIEBANK, today announced the launch of the 2nd Annual ERIEBANK 8 Great Charities, a contest for local non-profit organizations to complement the Bank’s major sponsorship of ERIEBANK’s 8 Great Tuesdays.
ERIEBANK’s 8 Great Charities begins today with a nomination phase. Individuals can vote on the Bank’s Facebook page for a favorite local non-profit to become one of eight contest finalists. The ERIEBANK 8 Great Charities finalists will be announced at the third concert on July 17, 2018 and will proceed to open voting for finalists to receive monetary awards from ERIEBANK. The organizations with the most votes will receive $3,000, $1,500, and $1,000, respectively, and the additional five organizations will each receive $500.
Anyone can vote daily on Facebook or at one of the branch offices. Nomination voting runs from July 3-15 and finalist voting runs during the final five weeks of ERIEBANK’s 8 Great Tuesdays, July 18 through August 20.  Awards will be announced at the final concert on August 21.
“ERIEBANK is proud to once again sponsor 8 Great Tuesdays and be able to add 8 Great Charities for the second year,” Mr. Zimmer said. “There are so many outstanding people and organizations that continue to enrich the lives of everyone in the area and it’s nice to be able to recognize them. We’re looking forward to another great summer concert series on the beautiful bayfront.”
To be eligible for the contest, non-profits must be designated as IRS 501(c)(3) organizations and must be located in the Erie, PA area.
