ERIEBANK Employees Raise Thousands By Dressing Down
Erie, PA – January 8, 2016
ERIEBANK employees dressed in casual attire on five different occasions throughout the year in exchange for a donation to a designated charitable organization. Collectively the program, now in its eighth year, raised more than $4,900 in 2015 alone. The funds were donated to the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and Salvation Army.
Each “Casual for a Cause” day had a different theme: National Wear Red Day in support of women’s heart disease; Fight Cancer Day, where employees wore purple to inspire hope, or their favorite superhero shirt; Luau Day; The Hunter or the Hunted Day brought employees to work wearing camouflage or animal print; and Holiday Sweater/Sweatshirt Day. Bank employees enthusiastically participated in each occasion.
“This program is a win-win for the dedicated men and women who work in our offices,” explained David Zimmer, President of ERIEBANK. “They get a chance to dress comfortably in jeans and casual shirts while raising money for organizations that matter to them. It’s a program our people enjoy participating in and we are proud of the results.”
The Human Resources department has already announced five Casual for a Cause dates and recipient charities for 2016. “We continually raise more each year and we anticipate easily exceeding $5,000 in 2016,” stated Mr. Zimmer.
As a community bank, ERIEBANK, a division of CNB Bank, has been developed by local people and businesses. This local decision-making increases the level of service provided to the communities of Erie, Crawford, Warren and Ashtabula Counties and brings growth to the entire region.
